Saturday Humor: Fearing Technology
Those who have been reading this blog know that I like to poke fun at the anti-technology position. Seems to me that pen and paper are also a technology, so pining for a past when humans were free of machines and technology seems a bit ridiculous to me. Enter Lee Siegel’s new book Against the Machine. I am curious about his argument, since reviewers are suggesting that it is far more well reasoned than Andrew Keene’s Cult of the Amateur. So, I decided to give it a look on Amazon and tag it as a book I might want to read in the near future. That is when I noticed something rather amusing in Amazon’s presentation of the book. (See the picture below.)

That’s right folks, this book is also available on the Kindle. Which means if you hate technology, like those evil bookbinders and printers, you can get this book in a digital format.

Very funny. The book also probably wouldn’t sell as many copies if it weren’t for Amazon and the internetz.

Brilliant… I may have to download a sample. See if it’s worth reading…. most these luddite’s arguments are pretty thin, however.
