I'm actually planning to get myself an iphone tomorrow (I became an ebay seller to save up the $$ for it!), so thanks for this list. I love the GTD apps, but this ToDo one seems a bit more reasonable. Still, I'm fascinated by the idea that omnifocus knows where you are....

I believe DEVONthink pro (not sure if only its "Office" version) has the option to carry (and work with) your database in the iPhone too.

On the other hand, I'm still one of those guys trying to avoid cellphones... there the iPod Touch seemed a piece of hope for people like me. But I don't know how many of these apps will work well on the Touch, though. Any ideas out there?

Great list.

A lower budget alternative to OmniFocus is ToDo (not To Do, there are 2, and I'm speaking about the one w/o the space) for $9.99

ToDo syncs w/Jott & Toodledo, so you can add to your list on the fly (call in an item via Jott or add to your list using the easy iPhone interface) and it will sync immediately, keeping both your desktop and iPhone current.

ToDo also gives several options for marking items that are completed. I use the red, rubber stamp "Done" Makes completing tasks very satisfying :-)

I tried out Evernote, just didn't like it. The app was a little buggy, slow, and seemed to lose data, or not convert it. I am hoping that the new Devon will be a substitute, because I really want a reliable brain in the box program that will work on iPhone.

Take a good look at Evernote: the ability to capture anything, including an audio reminder is terrific; they have a fully integrated iPhone/Web/Desktop system that syncs automagically, and...the killer touch, the ability to do text searches that cover in graphic images. I mean, as in handwriting on a cocktail napkin snapped by your iPhone camera, T-shirts, signs, and so on.
