Here’s one for all of those writing last minute syllabi for the coming semester. The Syllabus Finder hosted by the Center for History and New Media, is a search tool that builds on google search results to provide links to syllabi on the web. I had seen this a while back, and forgot about it until I saw it recently on Dan Cohen’s blog.. It works fairly well, although sometimes it returns “hits” that are not syllabi, or misses some. But it is a really good place to start. When searching for syllabi I usually start with one of the books I am teaching to see what others who are teaching that book are also doing, this returns a narrow enough number of results, as opposed to typing in “Postmodern Literature.”
