My New Favorite Web Site

Okay, it might not be my favorite, it is hard to beat WhereTheHellisMatt, but as an academic resource Media Commons is perhaps one of the promising academic websites I have seen. It is organized by the folks at Future of the Book. It is hard in short to explain everything that this site is going to work towards accomplishing. But in short think of it as YouTube for academics, free online resources and discussions about . . .well academic things. The focus is on Media, hence the name Media Commons. Right now they have a blog which is focusing on the development of the site, a call for proposals, and a section of short video clips with running commentaries/comments. Eventually it will be a free peer reviewed journal, something desperately needed in the humanities. Check it out, and if you are in Media studies definitely keep track of this one.
