Actually, this was the second request I made that went unanswered, but after spending some time on their boards they are incredibly helpful and friendly.

But, the semester has begun and I'm finding the 'ease of use' in Yojimbo is really nice. And just about every part of Devon I found myself actually using Yojimbo does as well.

Still, they do great work and I recommend them to everyone.

Thanks!

[...] For PC users, Gideon added this comment recommending OneNote, and Academic Lifehacker has a rundown of other options. [...]

Gideon,
If you are still interested in Devon you should try emailing again. I will say that my experience has been they are some of the most polite responsive developers with whom I have conversed, and perhaps there was a mistake, as they most definetly offer an academic discount.

And thanks for the PC recommendation, I simply do not spend enough time test driving PC apps to compare.

It's all about OneNote if you're on a PC. The single best piece of software I've ever used (in particular, OneNote 2007) and the one drawback about working on a mac is no access to this (short of vitualization).

It really is an impressive piece of work - far superior to Evernote (IMO).

Still, Devon is pretty impressive. But I could never get them to email me back about the academic license, and I found Yojimbo does a great job for my needs.
